Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Ayra Starr has released her highly anticipated third studio album, Starr Girl, a 16-track project that marks another major milestone in the singer’s rapidly evolving career .

The album, released on Friday, August 14, 2026, arrives two years after her critically acclaimed sophomore project, The Year I Turned 21, and five years after her debut, 19 & Dangerous .

The project features an ambitious roster of local and international collaborations . Among the headline features is Afrobeats megastar Wizkid, who appears on “Gimme Dat,” while fellow Nigerian star Rema features on “Who’s Dat Girl” .

Other confirmed guest appearances include:

• ZAYN on “Heaven Baby” – a cross-continental pop ballad that blends R&B vocal arrangements with subtle Afrobeats undertones 

• Leon Thomas on “Pressure” – an Afro-R&B duet built around warm guitar riffs and soft keyboard chords 

• Kwn on “Amazing” 

• Theodora on “Ms. Paper” – a multicultural blend of Nigerian Afropop and bouyon-influenced textures 

The album also features previously released singles including “Tornado,” “Hot Body,” “Where Do We Go,” “Letter To God,” and “Misunderstood” .

Starr Girl was recorded across Lagos, New York, and Los Angeles, reflecting the singer’s expanding international footprint . The project sees Ayra Starr pushing into bolder, higher-energy territory, blending rap flows with sung hooks over trap-influenced production on tracks like the album opener “Dangerous” .

The album also includes “Midnight in New York,” a euphoric track driven by a heavy, pulsing dancefloor rhythm closer to Afro-house than traditional Afrobeats—capturing the electric, disorienting feeling of a city at night .

Announcing the release on her social media pages, the 24-year-old musician reflected on her creative journey, describing the project as a deeply personal milestone .

“I’m so proud of the woman I’ve allowed myself to become through the making of this album and every version of me that had to exist to get here,” she expressed .
